Bristol glass artist, Rachael Durkan, the owner and inspiration behind The Glass Cabin, works with hand rolled kiln-glass to create unique handmade glass art and homewares.
Kiln-glass is available in a variety of forms and an array of colours, once assembled, the piece is heated in a kiln until it softens and fuses together. There is an extensive range of pieces that can be made using many techniques, the creative possibilities when using art glass are endless.
Rachael’s work is inspired by the geometric shapes and patterns found in nature. The often unexpected nature of using glass means you never tire of its captivating qualities. Fascinated by the complexity of this material and new effects which can be achieved is where Rachael’s passion lies.
